I was at the PC around 6.15pm when I felt nauseous and felt myself trembling uncontrollably. I thought I must be getting old, with all these different parts of me having wear and tear. I was afraid I was going to get a stroke or what not. Little did I realise then that I was experiencing first hand my very first earthquake tremors.
I looked down at my legs. I could felt them trembling but I couldn't SEE them trembling. It was like the trembling came from within me, from my tummy downwards. Needless to say, I was scared. I thought I had some serious ailment. I laid my head down for a while and the trembling stopped for a while. Then it came back. I decided not to dwell on it and got back to my PC screen and concentrated really hard, and then the trembling stopped. After that, my legs started trembling again. I think it went on and off about 3x and the whole episode lasted maybe 3 minutes. I then decided to off the PC and return to my cooking.
The experience was scary as I thought I had some serious illness. Though I was very sad somewhere in Indonesia where the epicentre was, and I can't imagine how badly those people have suffered, I am selfishly glad that my trembling was due to an earthquake and not me being sick. After going through this experience, I now appreciate somewhat what earthquake victims go through. I only experienced a little tremor, but for them, it is so much worse, and probably they had lost their lives too.
Let's pray for the victims and their loved ones.
